Thanks for my Birthday Cards! x

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to say a big thank you to Debbie, Jacky and Dora for my lovely cards that I received for my Birthday on Sunday! I was thoroughly spoilt by my family and got everything I wanted! hehe I had my family over for a nice BBQ and fortunately it was scorching hot for most of the day, until I had my birthday cake, when it drizzled a bit! But we still sat outside anyway!lol
I have got lots of money to spend on craft goodies, which I started to spend on Sunday! haha Just waiting for all the deliveries to arrive! I got my Artymiss delivery yesterday and received a Making Memories Vintage Chic Bumper Pack for £15 with over £60 worth of goodies in! Bargain! Can't wait to use it! I also bought some paper stacks, as I am addicted to pretty paper....! I have way to much, but just keep buying...!Oops! It was 50% off!
Anyway, I'm going to spend the day in my craft room today, so hopefully ill have some lovely new creations to post up on here soon.
Have a good week all, and don't get to burnt!

Lynn and Mark's wedding card

I've been making this card for my friends wedding day using scrap pieces left over from her wedding dress. I cannot tell you how difficult I found it sticking the netting stuff to the card. I used vellum dots, but it was a mission! Her bridesmaid dresses were olive green so I thought the ribbon was quite appropriate! I hope she likes it.
I have been doing a Tatty Teddy cross stitch as the wedding present, which unfortunately, I haven't managed to finish yet, but I'm getting there. Many problems with it! When its finished, I will show it off to you all. I am pleased with it, as its my first proper cross stitch. I didn't enjoy doing it though, at all!
Mark and I had a lovely evening on Saturday at the wedding, and I really enjoyed getting all dressed up, as it doesn't happen very often! I also saw people I used to work with a few years ago before I moved away, who I hadn't seen since I left, and it was lovely to catch up.

I had some great news today. Went to my Rosemary Conley class and received my 2nd stone certificate. 2 stone in 6 months, I am ever so slightly proud! hehe! Only 1-2 more to go and ill be at my ideal weight!
Anyway, I hope to make some cards tomorrow, and start getting back into regular blogging asap, im dying to get into my craft room! Its been a while!
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

Finally, an afternoon of crafting for the first time in weeks!

Well, I have finally managed to get an afternoon of crafting for the first time in weeks. I have missed it so much! Thanks to Katie for sending me these lovely spring Tilda stamped images, I love using them! I've made this card for my friend's birthday which is next week. We have been friends since we were in play school, so I wanted to make her a special card. I don't think you can see it on the picture, but I did actually hand stitch silver and pink thread around the border of the card, which took me a while. Think I'll get the sewing machine out next time! Ha!

Well, this evening I will be doing some more on my Tatty Teddy Wedding cross stitch. I am making it as a wedding present for my friends who are getting married on the 20th, and I haven't even got half way through it yet as I've put it off as it wasn't going to well!! I made the mistake of taking it around to my Gran's house about a month ago and thought I would do some while watching TV. Unfortunately my gran decided to talk to me instead and I missed out a section of the swing and its really bodged it up, and I have been putting off unpicking it, but I will have to tonight as D-day is approaching, faster than I'd like!! I also have to try and master french knot's, but I just know it's not going to happen! haha.....oh well!

Have a good evening all! Wish me luck! I'm going to need it.........

Mark's Birthday BBQ and Bank Holiday Monday!

Well it was a lovely sunny weekend, and the BBQ for Mark's birthday went well! I have eaten far to much, and will heavily pay for it this week by probably putting on a few lbs!! Ah well, no more treats for me for the rest of the week!! I actually caught the sun on Saturday and have a bit of a tan mark where my watch was!hehe It was nice not having to cook for everyone for a change, and Mark seemed to enjoy playing the 'chef' for the day, although I did help him out a little bit! We had Marks family over on Saturday (8 altogether), my family over on Sunday (only 3 - few!) and mine also stayed over the night so we could all go to the town fayre today. We didn't stay long due to it raining the whole time, which was a shame, but we stayed long enough for the dog show and donkey race with fake jockeys! It was rather hilarious to watch! Half just stopped and ate the grass, others ran and some lost there jockeys! All good fun!I am totally worn out now after such a busy weekend, and think I will have a nice lie in tomorrow before sorting the house out and getting back to normal! I just wanted to show off a few pictures from this weekend and Bank Holiday Monday. Makes a bit of a change from having just card on my blog too! First one is the Birthday boy himself. Second is Marks Dad, Mark and me. Third is my lovely new decking that Mark built all by himself - how clever is he!?
It's been a 'work in progress' since last summer, and finally its finished!! Fourth, fifth and sixth pic's are at the local pub, having a nice bank holiday Monday meal which we had with my parents and gran.
Hope you all had a wonderful long weekend and have a great week, whatever you get up to!

Mark's Uncle asked me to make a Bob the Builder card for his Grandson, Sam who is turning 3 at the end of May, and I thought instead of finding a picture on Google Images and then decoupaging it myself, why not print out a kiddies colouring page and have a bit of fun with my ProMarkers and then decoupage it!? I did have a bit of a 'claw' at the end of it from colouring in for a few hours, but I think it was worth it and it was fun! I'm not entirely sure how much to sell it for. It's always a bit difficult when its family and friends, isn't it? It must have taken me about 3 hours to make, is that ridiculously long? haha

It was lots of fun at my house this evening! We have a well established wasp nest right in the brick work next to my craft room windowsill outside, and I told Mark he had to get rid of it before my parents come over and stay on Sunday as my mum likes to have the window open at night and although the waspy's should be sleeping then, I don't think its worth the risk! So, as we have a conservatory below my room, you cant get a ladder to it, so poor Mark had to hang out of the window dressed head to toe in protective clothing in case the wasps decided to get rather angry once the foam was sprayed into there nice new home! He did look rather funny, and I wish I had taken a picture. I thought the netting over his face really added the finishing touch...haha! I think he managed to get most of the foam down the brick work rather than in the hole, so we will see if it works......watch this space! lol
